Wondering why this is happening i started to check some things out and found that the top of the amp was pretty hot and getting close to the point where you wouldn't want to touch it. I found the recommended setting from Marshall for the DSL100H as well as the JCM2000 showed a setting of 90mv. I had one with the supposedly crappy Dragnell transformers, and it never let me down. So many amps claim to be "Marshall like" bit as soon as you plug into this revoiced DSL, you'll say "there it is".... That Marshall sound. It sounded "muddy" and the Resonance knob seemed to do little to change the tone. The finish is unremarkable.
